The first thing I'm doing is visiting rural counties and listenting to what people want and need. Better roads and bridges, local access to healthcare, local jobs and easier commutes, and affordable housing are some of the issues that come up most often. I have policies in The Volunteer Plan to address all of them, and I've added more as I hear from you. I also want to highlight that my number one issue, Climate Action, will be a boon for rural Tennesseans in all counties. Farmers are our last line of defense against climate change, and protecting our food system is of vital importance. That's why several of my climate policies pay farmers for things like capturing carbon, reforesting land, and protecting waterways. It's work that needs to happen, so I'll support farmers who can help and benefit from joining forces to save our environment.
